Welcome to St.Barnabas Church, Manor Park, London E12 6PB
Peace and blessing to you
We are an Anglican parish church serving a diverse community in the London Borough of Newham. The neighbourhood of Manor Park has changed greatly since the church was built at the beginning of the 20th century, yet the task of the parish church remains as ever - to offer welcome and care, spiritual nourishment and loving fellowship to all.
We hope you will enjoy this website, and look forward to welcoming you for worship Sunday mornings, 9.30 a.m.
Refreshments are served after the service, and there is a bookstall with prayer cards and devotional leaflets. There is also a Traidcraft stall each week. If you plan to visit, perhaps you would like to bring some tinned or dried foodstuffs: contributions for the local Refugee and Migrants Project (RAMP) are offered together with the bread and wine and donations and alms, at the altar.

MARANATHA! COME, LORD
JESUS! CZECH LITANY When I’m down and helpless, when lies are reigning, when fear and indifference are
growing: may your kingdom come. When joy is missing, when love is missing, and unbelief is growing: may your kingdom come. To the sick and lonely, to the imprisoned and tortured: may your kingdom come. Into the churches, into our praying, into our
singing: may your kingdom come. Into our hearts, into our hands, into our eyes: may your kingdom come. Soon! (World Council of Churches 1989) |
Our church building
… is a delight and joy. Designed at the beginning of the 20th century by Sir Ninian Comper in partnership with Benjamin Bucknall, it provides an important focus of Christian witness and teaching within a multifaith context. By God’s grace it is a venue in which people come together across ethnic, cultural and faith differences, to discover more deeply and to celebrate the ground of our common humanity.
The building is currently undergoing extensive, urgently needed repair. Fundraising for this is a major concern. If, among the many calls on your generosity, you are able to support our ministry with a financial donation, it will help us continue to offer praise and glory to God in song and word and service in this area of need. Thank you.
