Services & Events
The main weekly Service at St. Barnabas is the Sunday Eucharist, starting 9.30 a.m. All are welcome. A wide range of Common Worship material is used, in a service that reflects a fairly traditional but relaxed Anglican style of worship. All baptised Christians are invited to receive Holy Communion, and anyone who so wishes is welcome to come up for a blessing at the Communion. Refreshments are served after the service.
Children of all ages are most welcome, Sunday School is available for those over three. Older children are invited to help with the younger ones if they wish.
We are blessed with the services of an excellent organist and a dedicated singing group (new members always welcome!)
Holy Communion is also celebrated on major Feast Days as advertised.
On Mondays 2-4 p.m. and Wednesdays 10.30 a.m.-12-30 the Textiles group meets. This is a multicultural community project working at different venues, but based at St. Barnabas, to create embroidered hangings, knitting, and other works to a high creative standard ... everybody welcome!

URBAN CHURCH BUILDINGS AS LITURGICAL AND COMMUNITY SPACE
Open Discussion on the theological assumptions behind our use of
church buildings. To stimulate debate, there will be presentations
from 4 parishes in or near Manor Park. We hope this might lead to a
general sharing of experiences and ideas, and follow-up if people
wish.
Although our context is inner urban, multicultural and multifaith,
with high levels of social deprivation, ministry here sets in sharp
relief many issues of general relevance concerning the nature and
relationship of the sacred and the secular.
